John William Wrench, Jr. (1913-2009) was born in Westfield, New York, and grew up in Hamburg, New York. He received his B.A. in mathematics from the University of Buffalo (now SUNY at Buffalo) in 1933, and then, in 1935, his M.A. in mathematics. He received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Yale University in 1938.

John William Wrench, Jr. (1913-2009) was born in Westfield, New York, and grew up in Hamburg, New York.
